I discovered this track a few days ago as I was making my way through the April playlist on birp.fm. I've gotten in the habit of trying to make sure I use the iTunes rating function to help me keep track of tunes I instantly love and also help me mark the duds. 

Today, I went back through some recently played tunes and discovered that I four-starred "Baskin'", by Isbells, so naturally, I played it again. Its such a simple and articulate song with a smooth, soft, driving beat overlayed with some light and easy guitar picking. The music makes me do what the title suggests - I sit and bask in the soothing sound of the music. But its more than just the music that I love in this song. The lyrics work in perfect harmony with the instrumentation. I love that "Baskin'" is about appreciating the present moment and embracing your feelings and experiences in the now. The message is communicated so clearly and in a way that just makes me keep playing this song over and over and over. Maybe you will too?

Its hard to find much information on Isbells, but it looks like they're band from Belgium and they are signed to Zeal Records. If you like their stuff, they have an upcoming album available for pre-order on their super-simple website.
